_As a parent and a swim coach, I agree that a caregiver should play a main role in helping a child learn to swim. Simply because I am amazed at how much kids learn by just getting to the pool and teaching themselves. However, they will need to be a/ bought to the pool at least a couple of times a week and b/ directed by someone who can help them continue to move forward in perfecting their efficiency and strokes. I also believe a good ratio is no more than 3 or 4 kids. I also value the explanation of the competitive strokes in this book and how to teach them. Kudos to the philosophies of this book. All kids learn differently. So I would suggest cross-referencing this book and others and achieve success at teaching kids you care for how to swim.
